Well, everything is finally settled down. I thought I'd say whats up to IL people. I just moved to West Chicago from MI to go to school at UTI. I'm aiming to get into the Porsche TAP program and become an authorized Porsche mechanic. I've seen a couple ITR's around the area (Wheaton, Glendale Heights, etc.). I commute a lot between MI and Chicago. I've put over 11K miles on my poor R since I got it 3 months ago! I need a beater bad now. Who all on here is around West Chicago? I'll get pics of my car, but for now, just keep an eye out for the orange R...

What up? welcome to the western burbs. I'm in that area, but i'm away at college for the time being. There are quiet a few Type R's in the area. I heard of the oRange Type R. My friend around there have told me about jOO. We will have to meet up over Thankgiving Break. I'll be home tuesday to see my ARRR for once.

 

you talkn about that orange r with the muge wing right? never seen it in person but have seen it in a couple of mags.. dunno if its the same one..

 

Not the Drivers Image car right? That's a GSR. It has like an orangeish chameleon paint to it, with the Mugen wing.

My car is orange with stock lip and wing and side skirts. Click the link in my profile to see a pic. I also have a GingerMan sticker above the 3rd brake light. If you ever are too lazy to do an oil change, I just landed a job at JiffyLube in Wheeling.

Ha, I'm going back to MI for Thanksgiving. Who's your friend. There is PY R at UTI in morning session with me. He said he is about to graduate though...saw another PY over near 56 and Highland on my way out of town.

the last owner painted it orange? is that the Orange ITR that was on Ebay? Isn't Wheeling far from the Wheaton/glendale heights area? I don't know anyone wit a ITR in my area. I just know that they are there, but i had one friend call me and tell me about a Orange ITR. I live around 56, and i've seen a lot of PY's itrs lately.

I'm just north of the city, near the lake.

We get together a couple times a year for barbecues and stuff, plus whatever track events people go to (including the ITR Expo). You got here just in time for the season when car guys hibernate. Look for big get-togethers in the spring.

yeah, I traded my S13 for it. I never saw the EBay auction for it, but someone posted it for sale on H-T back in July and I offered the trade. Wheeling is about 45 min. from my house, and about 20-25 min. from school. When I first moved there I stayed in an apt. with some UTI students on Briarcliffe off Butterfield/56. Now we are renting a house closer to school. Did your friend call you today?

Oh, BTW, UTI is Universal Technical Institute. They're one of the best technician training schools around. 87% of techs admitted to manufacturer trainign programs like Porsche, Audi, BMW, Mercedes, etc. come from UTI. I'm aiming for Porsche, big money. They are only gonna allow 54 people this year and require a 3.8 or higher GPA, 98% or higher attendance, no more than 1 moving violation in the past year and a 3 step interview process. It's intense.

Holy crap, I TOTALLY need to paint my car orange!! Teh sick hotness! Seriously, I've always loved Yellow and Orange cars. More orange. My dad used to drive a '75-ish Civic CVCC, orange.

</TD></TR></TABLE> hey sorry i dont have an itr but a gsr, it has a type R spoiler , no but i work at subway on Butterfield/ 56 and my friend Brandon lived in those apartments who also went to UTI over the summer. he owned a red probe. you know him? he worked on my car once(we traded and he took it to school for suspension work and a free alignment) and ive been over there a couple of times and also knew a few kids at UTI who lived there. i live very close as well(wheaton)

 

my roommates Joe and Mark lived in 1294 Briarcliffe. I stayed there for a couple days while the house was being settled...I just finished my first class (3 week phases).

he was a pretty cool guy.

sorry about that. yea that was my fault. I wasn't aware of the small parking lot there at O'hare. Paul said it would be there but i was told to move it to the Hooters at Woodfield mall. Next time we have a meet like that, we will make sure that everything is properly set up, and hopefully none of the cars are missing after dinner is over.(Damn China-town)

 

haha goodluck for the porsche TAP program if you can get in ... i graduated at UTI glendale heights a year ago and got accepted in VW program but i turn it down ... you gotta need lots of SOP in order to get in the TAP program and at least 4.0 with 99.9 attendance ... dont believe everything UTI say after you graduate ... im not even working in the field right now and plus i dont want to ... UTI is not all that as you think it is ... they suck IMO

3.5 GPA with 98% attendance and 3 S.O.P.
