Default in need of some b-series clarification

well, up until last week, i was looking forward to swapping in a built z6 motor until i realized that i could have more hp and torque out of a built b18 motor. it would cost me about the same amount to swap in either one because of the amount of machining and new parts i will be adding. althought i have read a lot, i guess i havent read enough and before i pick up the block im looking into, i have a few questions.
ive seen a lot of people talking about turboing an ls vtec motor. i thought the ls blocks had thin sleeves and wasnt good past 5500 rpms? also, what is the comp ratio on average lsvtec motors? like i said, i will be building this motor with a sleeved block, new pistons, and a lot of headwork so i need some advice on what comp pistons i should look into and whether to get flat top valves or dished valves.
also, i know the stroke is different between the ls motors and the b16/18c motors. does this difference make it any better for turboing or is it just a cheap block to start with?
thanx

the ls sleeves arent an thinner than other bseries sleeves. the ls block is as strong as any other b block, it's just that the rod bolts are thinner and tend to break easier. new forged rods with arp bolts, or even just new arp rod bolts will help that.

do a searchski, and you'll be all set.

Well, what do you need to know on the B-Series, or better yet, what is imperative that you need to know now a I have plenty of links on B-Series info.

im planning on building an lsvtec turbo motor. i have been able to find a lot of sites on doing the lsvtec, but not as many dedicated to turboing the b motors, or better yet, lsvtec motors specifically.
thanx a lot

here's a good one for teh XSI B series motor......it gave me a lot of info on my "not-so-little" engine.
