Default accord rear sway bar question

ok so i am looking to buy a rear sway bar and lower tie down bar. for my 95 accord lx. does anyone have a good suggestion on which one to buy? i was looking fo a 24mm or 26mm(if there is a 26mm) size for the sway bar and i was also looking for a rear tie bar that had plates at the end for the sway bar to attach to. i have looked at other tie bars and didn't see any that had plates at the end. thanks in advance for any help.

On the 6th gen accord, the biggest bar available is the Eibach 23mm rear sway. Assuming your old skool trailing arm behaves the same way my 5 point multi link does, 24-26mm is asking for trouble, unless you're already running the correct spring rates in the rear.

Basically, if you aren't running stiff enough springs in the rear, your big swaybar will start tearing up endlinks, and possibly your subframe.

i have apexi ws dampner coil-overs all around and upper strut bars front and rear. i picked up a set of stock EX accord sway bars but i want a larger rear sway bar. the 95 accord is a 5th gen though not a 6th. i don't know if that makes a diffrence in the size available? but to avoid breaking the connectiong points my friend was telling me that some lower tie rods come with plates to attach the sway bar to, so you don't have to attach the sway bar directly to your lower control arms. i think that is correct for what he was saying but if i am wrong please correct me.

yes, I know your car is a 5th gen, which has a different rear suspension than my 6th gen. What I'm trying to say, is that the spring rates that the Apex'i WS, and TEIN SS come with, have really soft springs in the rear. Pair that with a big rear sway and you'll be putting a lot of stress on the endlinks/subframe.

I haven't seen the "plates" that you are talking about, and I'm sure they'll prevent the problem I just mentioned, but the point I am trying to make is that you shouldn't have to rely off of a huge rear sway to make your car rotate better.

Assuming that the EX front sway is bigger than your stock LX front sway, I'd stick with the LX front sway, and get a bigger rear sway that is bigger than the EX rear sway, but much smaller than the 24-26mm you want to get (like 19mm).

On the 6th gens, both LX and EX have the same front/rear sways (27mmF/16mmR). I slapped on a 19mm rear sway on my stock 6th gen to get the car to rotate better, without having to worry about tearing up endlinks/subframe.

Doesn't Suspension Techniques make a 19mm rer sway for your car?

s/t has a 19 mm bar..i'm running this with no front bar...i like the setup so far but i'm using different coilovers than you...i might try using a front ex bar if i have some money on the side

they have a rear swaybar + tiebar combo...that might have the plates you're looking for

progress makes a 22 mm bar but you'll have to drill into the subframe to make the other two mounting points...these have plates too but it's a swaybar...maybe that's what you meant?

the apexi coilovers come with 9k front rates and 4k rear rates (that's what ebay man told me when i asked him about them)

imo just slap on a s/t rear bar and call it a day if you want to upgrade

4k in the rear is REALLY soft. id worry about getting stiffer springs before getting a bigger rear bar. find out how much spring your shocks can handle and go from there.

just find out what the free length and ID of the springs are and you can get springs from hypercoil or eibach. im not sure that apexi will sell seperate springs with different rates.

I am pretty sure that the Inner Diameter of the Apex'i springs are 2.5", so your standard 2.5" ID Eibach ERS spring will it. You jsut need to figure out what length spring you need

IMO, if you aren't autocrossing, just slap on a 19mm rear sway and call it a day...
