Distiguishing Stamp on CRX SI tranny!
Ok, so my couson is purchasing a d16a6 tranny off of a CRX SI. I need to know if there's some sort of stamp that will distinguish it from HF and DX trannies. This way i can verify.
Any help appreciated, thanx!

there is no real way to tell by looking at the outside of the transmission - you will read about looking at the numbers by the fill plug - PL3/A000, PL3/3000, PL3/9000, etc. and that will tell you - simply not true - those are casting numbers for the case and nothing more - PL3/A000 could be a DX, HF or Si (depending on year) and PL3/3000 could be DX or Si (depending on year) - ZC transmissions also say PL3/3000 & PL3/9000 - the PL3/letter & numbers have 35mm differential bearings - PL3/number & numbers have 40mm differential bearings - for the non-believers, i have a couple of transmissions that say PL3/9000 - they are 91 DX - if you believe they are Si, i will sell them to you for $250 each
