Aftermarket shifter bushings? Who has used them?
I was taking apart/rebuilding my shifter linkage on my 1992 prelude and noticed that the rubber bushings that connect the entire "shift plate" to the "tunnel" are kind of soft and spongy. I tried tightening them down but they are still pretty soft. Has anyone tried using metal washers or a aluminum shifter bushing kit to get a better "feel?" I've got a short shifter adaptor right now and want to tighten the feel a bit more. Will solid shifter bushings hurt the tranny at all? Anyadvice?-+
try buying a real short shifter from forbidden motorsports, they will make your adapter feel like a jeep shifter......dont worry about messing with those bushings, theyre there so the shifter doesnt rattle too bad....

It is the plate bushings, the one on the shifter and the ones on the transmission.

For the 4th gen??? I'm interested, seeing as how the bushings on my cables on the tranny end are almost trashed. Where would one of these kits be available??
