Default dx motor work with std trannY?

Just bought a 91 std hatch. It needs new motor and axles. Will my crx dx motor / clutch bolt up to the std trannY?

I know the axles won't work.. which sucks

The motor will bolt up and the axles will work. The hub side is different and since you are using the axles that came with the stock hubs you are fine.

If both are '91 models, the transmission will bolt up directly to the engine using the existing clutch.

A different clutch is only needed when using an '88 transmission.

NEVER DONE this...but can u unbolt the tranny from motor, and pull just the motor? Leaving the tranny and axles still in the car?

If so, how much of a pita is this?

More work then it needs to be if you try to leave transmission in.

So its easier to pull the hubs, pop the axles ...take the motor/ tranny out and swap tranny onto dx motor?

IMO yes because if you just want to pull the motor out you will need to unbolt the axles from the hubs anyways and still pull the transmission away from the motor. That will be a PITA as you have two of the engine mounts to compete with so if you disconnect the tranny from those you might as well just leave it attached to the engine and pull it out with it. You can pull the tranny out and leave the engine in, but it is way more work to pull the engine out and leave the transmission in.
