hey everybody, i need to install camber kits, but for the ingalls for the front tires, i see that i can buy either ball joints or control arms for the front. it seems like the control arms cost more, are they better than the ball joints? or do I need both? also, i only need one pair for the both tires right? please reply, thanks.

Yes the control arms cost more, and I don't know if they are better. I have no personal experience, but from reading both types have plenty of horror stories. Overall, it seems as if the control arm is better and there seems to be less of a clearance issue. You would not use both camber kits at once i.e. adjustable control arm and adjustable ball joint.

 

I have the concentric camber adjusters for my car. They were $110 for the set for 4 (2 for each side.) They were pretty easy to install. I just dropped them in, and took my car to an alignment shop. They gave me a before and after print out for the camber, toe in, and 4-wheel alignment for about $100 after the work was completed. Concentric adjusters are normally +/- 1.5 degrees

If you have a 6th like mine, the front is going to be ball joints and the rear are going to be replacement arms...the rear shouldnt be that hard to install but your gonna have to put a lil elbow grease intot he front

The front is going to be either ball joints or control arms.

 

On my 5th gen i have the ball joints. They're real nice and easy to install except that since i have a 2 inch drop... The upper most part of the ball joints will sometimes hit off the top of my wheel wells. That only happens on large bumps and what not. I haven't tried the other type, but I heard they make the control arm stick out somewhat more and so the end of the control arm will hit the egdge of your wheel wells. I dunno....but it's up to you! I think minor modification is necessessary for both of them

Well, I heard the opposite. I heard that the adjustable ball joints give more of a clearance problem. If someone with camber control arms could comment, it would be great.
