well i'm not gonna lie . i am a JR in high school currently have around 9 gs been saving up since fresman year. and i recently just bought a 90 hatch . i know that you can swap the engine and shiet. but i need you guys to help me on this . my cousin , he goes to car auction in oakland and he told me i can get a type r there for around 7 gs which got smash bad on the side or mayb the ***. but everything else will be fine. i wonder if i can do 5 lug conversion, camper, shock,
and the most important thing the interior and i possiply fit a type r interior in there such *** dash and side door panels . anything will help thankyou verry much .

.....just do a search of my user name in the archives and you'll have enough to keep you busy for a LONG time.

Also, try doing a search of user "mackymcg" and his threads in the archives.

But the long and short of it is that you can use just about everything from the type R and put it into an 88-91 civic/ crx. Please keep in mind that you will be wanting an 88-89 BASE MODEL hatch as they are significantly lighter to start with.

type r dashes have been put into egs. i think you have an older hatch, which i have not seen the type r dash go into. regardless, you're really young and i say you learn to drive well first. there is NO need for crazy young drivers on the road.

 

On a serious note: I think you would be much better off just putting a B16 in the car. Don't bother trying to swap suspension and all that stuff. There are plenty of aftermarket suspensions for the car that will work just fine. You can swap some CRX Si rear disc brakes if you don't like the rear drums.

You'll save a lot of money -vs- the Hype R conversion, and the car will be just as much fun to drive. Heck, I had a '90 Civic Si with the stock D16 motor with LSD and upgraded suspension, and the car was nearly as much fun to drive as an ITR.
