Default Civic to Integra

I currently have a '00 2dr Civic EX with an B16A drop, NS[Not Stock] intake mani., short throw, and a Protech ECU. Its giving me some **** that i've posted about in the Civic forum and it came up about "you'd be better off selling it and getting another civic." Then it hit me, I wanna drop an Integra R motor in my **** anyway, why not get an Integra. Either way i'm building not buying, so if i get another civic its going ot be an EX and i'll turn the wrenches, and if i get an Integra i'm not sure. I want an insurance sleeper, low budget VIN # but a high speed project if you get me. If i go with a Teg, what body would need the least amount of conversion for a Type R drop? GS or GSR. I haven't run the digits insurance wise just yet, but before i do i'd like some feed back from the pros.

Gs-r would be the best choice for what you want to. Realize though its a thief magnet. Especially if they know its got an R swap in it. But as for a GS/LS/RS. Your probably better off sticking with your civic.

first off, consider how you plan on building: NA/ or FI... if you plan to do proj car and sleeper is your ultimate goal... id get an rs, (cheapest/base model) you plan on doin a motor swap anyway, so if u dont care about moonroof then go with this. the ls/gs both come with roofs, (slightly heavier) but like i said, if roof doesnt matter, then get the rs and beef up the suspension for sure, to however you like. get some stock ls mesh rims, nice and light..and there you go. who's to know whats under the hood.

dont drop your $$ into a gsr if you plan on swapping out the motor and building anyway.

but better yet, imo for a proj car: 94-95 civic hb with a gsr motor dropped in

low budget sleeper = low budget payout from insurance when stolen, unless u insurance all the parts seperate which costs more and defeats the purpose of the base model

the car i bought already hooked up was a gs and the guys swapped a gsr motor in it. so i an screwed if it ever disappears, but thats what STATEFARM is for i got a reciept for the motor and most of the other stuff! but i would have rather got a gs due to the slight weight reduction....

godd luck w/ ur pro-jekt car

sack master is an idiot.
the difference between driving a civic ex and an integra GS, LS, RS is huge, just as changing to a GSR would be. And if insurance is an issue, then get the lower model line, the LS, and do your sleeper mods from there. Full insurance on my turbo RS is less than half as much as my friends type R, and I am much faster. He has a bad driving record i guess, but i save nearly $3800 a year on insurance vs him. with that you could buy the mods to go fast, handle well, and brake hard as hard as you want. But you decide what you want to spend your money on, i'd rather be paying for mods.

Well I've pulled some of the stats for LS - Type R, to get my knowledge up. It was said that GSR's are theft hasards and what not. Bodywise what is difference between a GSR and GS or LS? I'm going to shave the badges on anything i mod, and more than likely put a new body kit. next to the seats what else can tell what the car started as? I was looking at the GS, for the roof, and do a conversion. I work at an insurance realtor, and i know the bit about having to insure EVERY ******* thing u got, if u want it to pay off if ur **** is stolen or totaled. now, if u were going to compare the models from Civic to Integ's. Is this the right order for Integ's to run along side Civics:

Civic: HX - DX - LX - EX - SI
Integra: RS - LS - GS - GSR - Type R

So the LX civic would be the equiv. to the GS only with the roof, since LX's don't come with roofs. Is this about right, cause i know Acura is the higher line of the Honda Motor Corp.

Real nice. And just because I didn't spend my time explaining why a civic is a better candidate than an ls for a gsr swap, I'm an idiot? And because I have an opinion I'm an idiot? Well think what you will. We should all feel blessed that you are here to spread your cheer and knowledge of how things work. Thanks for opening our eyes guy

You are in a bad situation. If you get an integra no matter which model it is chances are high of it getting stolen. Say you get an RS and swap in a B18C5 if you dont get the engine insured (which cost $$) you are going to get shafted when it gets stolen.

I think the first post was right on the money. Get a gsr. Insurance is not as high as an ITR but it is a little more than a Rs/Ls/Gs. You can modify the B18C1 and have it just as strong as the C5.
