Default Tein Users (swaping springs, front to rear)

Is this rumor true? can you swap the fronts with the rear?

This is on Tein RAs.

Reason for.. drag racing.. it would make the rear stiffer..

14f 10r are how it is now.

any thoughts?

More importantly, is the car up and running yet?

Sorry for the high-jack, back on topic...

Give'em an email. I know for the old HA's you could only adjust spring rates +/- 2kg/mm from stock. So, for the fronts I could go from 8kg/mm to 10 or 6. The RA's are a higher up model, so maybe there adjustment range is greater.

I run 18k up front and 14k rear. I'm running the type RS's and with a 22mm rear swaybar.

That is correct. They told me the same thing when I emailed them about stiffer rates for my HAs.

+ or - 2kg from what the shock came with, any other than that and you'll need have them revalved by Tein

That's crazy stiff. I've got the same shocks but swapped out the 14k front to 8k and kept the 10k rears.

Back to the topic, I could cofirm what members have said above, TEIN told me to send the front ones to have them revalved.

I'm running 12k front & 8k rear. Stock HA is 8k front & 6k rear.

As long as the springs are of the same dimensions (height, ID, etc.), the springs will flip flop however you like.

I've got 4 different sets of Tein 70mm ID standard springs in 10, 12, 14, and 16 kg/mm, and I've swapped them around before as needed.

The tein website lists recommended and maximum spring rates you can use with each particular shock before it has to be revalved....and it is typically +/-2 kg/mm.

The springs will swap back and forth no problem.

I also have herd from tein that the shocks are only valve to handle a small increase, but I have a friend who bought stiffer front sprnigs and swapped the front to the back anyways.

He runs the dampening stiffer than before, but honestly it doesn't feel underdampened even at the road cource.
