Default Compustar 2W8000FM-AS alarm for 96 Prelude

I bought my prelude about half a year ago and it came with an alarm called the "Rattler." The guy installed it himself and it has never really worked that well. I'm looking into the compustar alarm/remote start system but I have heard that you have to purchase a clutch adapter for 5spd preludes....is this true? Also has anyone had experience with this alarm?

I'm thinking about buying the alarm on ebay and paying for the labor at a local shop. Would it be cheaper just to order the alarm through the shop?

Thanks,

all you have to do is ground out the clutch pedal wire.

who is this most shops. There almost every store that sells the compustar line will install a starter on the manual. With the compustar it forces you to put the car in neutral, the alarm forces you to exit the car and close the door before it will shut the engine off... it is prefectally legal to have a Compustar starter on a manual. And no the clutch adaptor is not necessary for the compustar.

cool thanks, I guess I just have to call around and see which shops do it... But does anyone know if it would just be cheaper to buy the alarm from the shop or buy it from ebay for $250 and just pay someone for labor?
