H-brace, what do you think?
Worthy part? Will my HiTech clear? It's fairly inexpensive, is it worth the try? The ebay ones look exactly like the MeganRacing ones, are they all the same?
I think they make headers to go with those special V-tech hondas.
Anyway... H-braces are going to be illegal for most types of competition and a waste of money for HPDE events.

i'd say you'll have no problem clearing just about any header with one of these things..the reason?they hang super low, just as said above.i had a friend buy one for his car.after i installed it(which BTW-it had plenty of clearance for his DC 4-1),i strongly urged him to take it off and sell it.it was by far the lowest hanging part of the car.dragging the exhaust is one thing-it flexes.drag that H-brace across something solid(say a manhole cover on the street,or a curb on track)and i'd think you'll have some big damage.
i'd say that area could use some strengthening, judging by how the LCA mounting points kind of "hang" down, but th H-braces available are a bad design.

Some people have tried a slimmer design such as this s2000 piece from science of speed .com
With a motor of considerable size in a flimsy chasis like a prelude in an EF it may be worth customizing a thin design like above but other than that it takes away a certain relibility that there is not much in the way justify with that part IMO

i'va also looked at the fitment on one of these(one of the super-cheap Ebay specials) and they hang as lower/lower than the H-braces do
if you were to custom make one that tucked in very close to your particular setup,it could probably be pretty safe as far as hangups.i guess all the manufacturers make these braces/bars to clear ANY header setup,so they hang really low.

I have a cusco fr.lwr tiebar, and it sits .5" from my jasma header. I have only once rocked it hard on a manhole cover (stood 2.5" above the brick, on a hump in the road) and it wasn't badly damaged. If anything, I would thing it would bend, and not harm the chasis.
Ok so on a street driven car, is a brace or tie bar even worth the trouble?
Let's say the car has tein ss w/pillow mounts, front/rear upper, rear lower tie/sway bar, is the front tie worth having if it sits so low on a daily driven car?

The Integras come with a lower front brace from the factory which some members have fit on an EG. Still looking for one at a salvage yard to see if it will work. This could be a good alternative...

i have one of these waiting ti install on my hatch, just haven't had time.should help(especially considering Honda apparently deemed it necessary from the factory, and i'm sure they made a functional design-no "bling" from them),although something that braced a little lower would be nice.

i have an h22 in my cx eg. i used type-r front and rear sway bars, itr rear lca's, the front lower chassis tie bar and the top tie bar off a gsr.
Mine being a CX, it didn't even come with sway bars from the factory, but it had all the holes to add them, so everything helped.
if you are running a lighter motor, this would be a kick *** set-up. Even with the heavier h22, cornering is serious
. I would personally stay away from stuff that is going to hang low. I have ripped exhausts right off my car before. its no treat, so something solid like that could feasbly destroy your car if you hit something

Do any of you have good pictures of an H-Brace or a Front Lower tie in relation to how low it hangs so I can get an idea of it. That way i can determine whether or not i would like to purchase one or the other, or decide not to purchase them at all.
