...my teg, thought i would share cause it's my first honda...
yeh i'm a VW guy who's faught with everyone i've owned to keep it going so i thought it was time for a change. i've asked around here so i'm new but not i guess?
i try not to be an ***, i try to help rather than be a sarcastic *** and say search rather than type an answer to a problem i know, although i don't know too much yet mainly i've been reading every day to learn hopefully as much about hondas as i do about VWs...
i got the car running, i bought it non running so i am kind of happy about that waiting on the title to come back to start driving it cause i did not want to register it and insure it when it doesn't run...
i got it cheap, how bad is it? i thought it was alright? sincemy uncle used ot do body work on "exotic" cars i.e. porsche and ferarris and stuff and my girlfriend's dad used to own a body shop and has done his fair share of show cars so hopefully i can con one of them to fix the side hahahahahahaha

floor mats are a little stained and coated in dirt but i thought the interior was rather clean too...
i like it... oh and i forgot to mention. 237,600 miles and it runs

def. a lot of potential. if you put a couple hours of cleaning up the interior should be rather nice. the outside could use some body work. do you have plans for it or just a car to drive to work and stuff? how many miles are on it? they will run forever and serve you well

Wow... that's a nice high-mileage project right there. If you keep an eye out in the classifieds a lot of people seem to part out g2's so you can clean up some of the interior basics. It's nice to see you have something lined up for the exterior as well, I always loved the black g2's. I might even paint mine black one of these days. You will find a ton of info and how-to's on http://www.g2ic.com as well.

a black g2 integra is a great way to get into hondas... i should know, lol. btw, i have a black good condition 91 front bumper if you want it. just figure out a way to get it to PA from Indy and it's yours. i'd be glad to be part of the cause, and welcome to H-T!

(pm me about the bumper, or w/ any questions in general about your car)

hey, nice project
i go back and forth between dubs and honda's myself.. Ive got an 87 golf GT with the 90 up bumpers, corrado interior, and a 2.0 16v on euro cis.. as well as a 97 integra..
The folks here seem to be cooler with VW's then a lot of the Vortex people are with Honda's and Acura's

thanks for all of the comments, def. appreciate them
the interior i actually cleaned already, but i didn't even touch the carpets though, thinking about pulling them out and just puttin in all new carpet, cause i don't like the carpetless weight saving deal on a daily driven car... oh and how the hell do i get the shift boot off? i don't want ot break it so i don't mess with it too much but everywhere i mess with it t cee if a clip on the ring holds it in the ring just bends in so much i'm afraid of it breaking...
plans for it are to stay stock over the winter and then right now i'm looking at a B16A swap cause it's a rather cost efficient swap, damn college
cause http://www.hmotorsonline.com is the only place i know of to buy engines from... then with the engine will come the body work, front and rear bumper both need replacing
the back one got hit just hard enough to crease it, so i can get away with a cover back there, but up front the whole bumper support is bent... i dunno what i'm looking to do with suspension yet. probably not going to crazy cause even after the swap it's still going ot be my daily driver, just want some more power. thinking KYB or Tociko shocks and B&G springs...
Golf GT eh? if the motor dies and you get rid of the car i would think about keeping the head off of that for a rainy day incase you come across an old 8v cheap, good start to working on one
yeh vortex can be quite ******** about jap cars... kind of stupid i always stuck up for the japs haha, cause i was always a fan of toyotas cause when i was 16 i had an 85 supra (i <3 gen 2 supras and 85 is the best year for them) with 160,000 miles on it, car was actually showroom condition except the arm rest had wear from use, shift boot showed age, and orignal power antenna acted up and was replaced with an after market but i still had original. also i was 3rd owner 2nd owner only had long enough to get title back, and i had every reciept for the car.
as for modding the LS... not really of my intentions, i bought the cheapest intake i could find so i can do away with my water soaked intake cause i was just running no filter haha so i figured cheap intake is better than nothing...

welcome to the "otherside"
i think you'll enjoy the car, iv'e helped my frinds work on their VW's and i think if you can work on VW honda/acuras are like working with legos. a VW friend of mine just bought his first honda a couple of months are and he loves it, and belive me hes a diehard VW guy, but hes still gonna make his A1 16v cabby into the race car. good luck with your project. if your looking for another source for motors try http://www.importautosalvage.comwe try to get all of our motors from them when we're looking for swaps. they are very very good and have really clean swaps and stand behind their motors, plus they are in north carolinia so it will save you a little money on shipping.
i can say though honda distribustors are much harder to mess with than one on a VW...
thanks for the site, i am gonna have to contact them i guess for prices cause the don't mention anything on the site about what engines they have or what prices are...
