Battery dies every 3 days in my Type R...How to find an electrical short ??
I just installed a Black Widow BWN-500P 2 way paging Alarm by Best Buy in my type R. Every three days or so I need to jump start the car because the battery dies. I removed the fuse from the alarm and left the car alone for a week to find out if the alarm was instead the problem. It was indeed.
My question is... is there anyway to find a short in an electrical system ?? Common problems or shorting problems with the alarm or with Integra Type R's in general ??

Take that thing back to Best Buy and tell those idiots to fix it. They're obviously the ones to messed it up.
Are you parking outside or inside?
I had a GPS based tracking alarm that used to do the same thing. When parked indoors - the CPU would constantly try to establish a signal (where there wasn't one to be had) if parked underground or in a concrete parkade.
You may need to run a higher capacity battery to counteract the drain of the alarm - the Type R battery has very limited storage capacity.
Check your alternator too. and also check the current draw of the alarm with it on.
If all else fails - you might need to ditch the alarm (I ditched mine at a cost of a couple of thousand bucks)

Anyone else have an ITR with a 2 way paging alarm... do you think the ITR battery is large enough/sufficient enough to supply power to the alarm, if let untouched and uncharged for 5 days ??
Sfunny - many people are loathe to bring their car to a dealer in case a $40-per-hour mechanic screws it up, but they will happily let a bunch of unqualified minumum wage 20-year-olds at a Best Buy hack at the wiring system in their car when getting an alarm installed. In my experience, tracking down electrical problems in a car is harder than almost anything else.
Disclaimer: I realize that not all alarm shop people are unqualified, but you are not exactly going to get the best installers at a chain store like Best Buy.

i haven't had problem YET
but i would leave battery disconnected if i was going away or storing my car because battery on ITR doesn't have high capacity to hold it's charge
or your other option would be setting up timer on your alarm to turn on every x hours. during winter, i have mine programed to run for 10 minutes every 3 hours just in case because it gets pretty damn cold in boston. and batteries doesn't like cold weather.
your other option will be having seperate battery for your alarm along w/ backup battery
