Default Vacuum leaks/idle adjust screw. Check this out

A tech at Honda dealership said if you screw in the idle adjustment screw all the way the engine will die if there ar eno vacuum leaks. Can anyone verify?
Mine's all the way in.

Well it seems pretty logical that it would work that way, because the idle screw lets a stream of air in, the looser it is the more air, and the tighter it is less air. So vacuum leaks would be evident if its all the way in and it doesn't die, because if its all the way tightened no air should be getting in and the car would die.

you'd have to follow the procedure though, just turning the screw won't do anything, or rather never did for me. However, if you have a vaccum leak into your intake manifold, your idle would be screwed anyways, and if its big enough, you'd just go right to redline.

so follow the procedure in the book where you unhook the map or something like that?
