Default CRX Brakes dontwork

i recently bought my first honda, an 89 DX CRX. It had no brakefluid at the time and i found out it was becasuse the left rear brake line was cut. I fixed that and put in brake fluid. I then compressed the brake pedal with the motor off and i felt a very good amount of back pressure. When i turn the car on though all the pressure i was previuously feeling goes away and it feelslike i have no brakes. What could cause this? Should I Bleed the brake and how do i go about doing this on the rear drum brakes?

Yes, bleed the brakes, there is a good chance there is air in the lines.
