What Pistons to put into my GSR block with a B16 Head???
ok i got a GSR block, i want to change the pistons in it, and will i be able to do it myself? i do alot of swaps, changng heads trannys **** like that im pretty mechanically inclined, and have a nice tourque wrench
just seeing if i could do my self? and also i want to mill the b16 head for more CR, how much should i mill it? and with what pistons? let me know what u think thanks alot, im running ITR cams ITR manifold and ITR TB, let me know what u think, thanks alot

If you have a Helms, then you already have a writeup.
Its not that hard. I built my b18c1 with ITR pistons. First time ever doing that sort of thing, and its got 2300 miles on it and been running strong since day one.
Good luck

If you don't mill you'r head, you could go with the CTR piston because it has a high piston dom or you could also go with the 2 layer head gasket form MUGEN/SPOON SPORT. You could also higher you'r CR. you could still mill you'r head if you want too

run the ctr pistons....im running b18c block with b16 head and ctr pistons on 91 octane...with my chipped p28 i have to retard the base timing by 2 degrees...with my pct ecu i run 16btdc...no ping...

click on the VERY FIRST LINK at the top of this page, it was started by JOHNZM. Dont do CTR pistons unless you want 12.5+compression which means ALOT OF TUNING an FUEL or detonation will be your friend. Run p30s from a JDM b16 or PR3s. compression will be at 11.4-11.6:1 i belive. I have pr3s in my GSR block with a B16 head and i love it. CTRs belong in only one motor, the B16b aka CTR motor IMO
I'm running CTR pistons in my b18c5 block with 92 octane pump gas for two years now and it still run strong. Ran a 12.40 in a Allmotor Streetcar.

idk 12.40 with the CTR sounds pretty temping, i would liek to know more abo the setup, and what fuel manegment system ur using.. im lookign ot dip into the low 13's with my integra

i wouldn't drop in new pistons w/o having the cylinders checked out by a machine shop. Get taper and roundness checked. If the cylinders aren't round doesn't matter what pistons you go with, you're not gonna have good compression. Get those cylinders checked out first!!
