Default Piston choice (brands)

I have decided on Civic Type R pistons (pct) but can decide which route to go, can anyone help?? Here are the choices:

1. OEM Civic type R pistons
2. Nippon Racing CTR replicas (believe they are cast??)
3. Forged CTR replicas

They will be in a ls/vtec with h-beam rods, dh-racing cams and valvetrain, etc...

Anyone heard of Nippon Pistons?? Are they decent for the price? OEM is always a good choice too, isn't it?? I would love to get a set of forged replicas but the cost...aghhh..

Anyway, thanks for any input you might have!

Alfred

I would stick with the OEM slugs.

If you could have forged then why go with cast iron. Since you already buying forged rod might as well spend a few buck and get the piston too, oem piston is not better then forged piston they are able to sustain more heat.

stock pistons are cast aluminum

and I like stock pistons, because of the wear characteristics, tolerance, and expansion rate
