what coil overs fit struts properly?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? do i need springs for my KYB's??
i just bought kyb agx struts for my 90 hatch. they have the same cups as the factory struts. when i took off the back strut to replace it with the new one, my coilover wouldnt come out of it, it was wedged down into the bottom cup of the factory strut and now it will not come out. either way it should not fit in there like that. they are maxspeed coilovers installed by previous owner.
now for the fronts, old coilover is cracked from driving around on a blown strut, and i thought that it didnt look like the aftermarket coilover fit the stock strut to well either, but now the coilover slides over the new KYB strut and it hits that piece of metal at the bottom that isnt welded and is flared out. (dont know waht this is for maybe someone can tell me?) anyways, it rest on that piece of metal flared out and it should rest at the bottom of the strut, if the coilover sleeve was .25" wider in diameter the strut would rest where it is supposed to, dont know what would happen with the back though..
so to sum this all up, i think i need to buy lowering springs, instead of coilovers cuase nothing seems to fit right, and all the coilovers that i looked at appear to be the same diameter as the ones i have now, so they wont work. does anyone have coilovers on kyb struts taht fit right? are they supposed to rest on the rear strut cup or fall down insdie of it? it all looks so ghetto i dont know what to do. i dont want to resort to springs taht and i dont want it too low all the time.
any help is appreciated.
