How Long your swap took?
For all of you who have done a b16a2 swap into your eg, i was just wondering, how long did it take you on your first time swap? and was there any major difficulties doing it? and do you think jsut any one can do it with basic knowledge? or you need some sort of help from people who have done it in the past? thanks
My first swap was a B18C earlier this year into an EG and I didnt know much about cars, knew a little but learned alot more doing my own swap...If you do enough research its really a cakewalk...For being my first swap, it started up right away and Im proud that I accomplished what I did...I cant wait for the next ones...
your biggest set backs I've found are the ones like needing a front dampener mount because of the old ones being worn out or dry rotted, having a cv axle seal leaking, or just not having the right belts or hoses. Try to replace all general wear tear items before you install the swap. like the new water pump, timing belt , and thermostat. I've also found not having the right tools will slow you down a bit as well. A breaker bar and metric socket set is a must and impact wrench will make the process alot easier. Do a search on all the tools needed like ball joint pulling fork and big hammer. Last but not least don't forget to pick up all your fluids oil, mtf, and anti-freeze.
with common sense and basic mechanical ability a monkey could do this swap.

It took me about a week to do my first swap, b16a2 into an eg. That was a couple hours a day after an 15 hour shift in my backyard, no roof, no concrete just me and the grass.
Also I had a totalled Si, so I took everypart of the si and put it on my eg, all electric, dash, lines, suspesion, everything..............

Depends how much time you put into it. It took me about a week working on it off and on. Taking the old one out is the easy part. Dry rotted parts sucks make sure you have the right rear bracket if you don't they are a pain to find. But otherwise it goes pretty smooth as long as you do your homework on the swap.
