That's where i got it from.
Before I planned to get the b18c gsr engine. I knew i couldn't do it myself. I wanted to pay someone to install it for me. I have a 90 Crx.

Hiya,
I see that you live up in Sac...there are plenty of people in the local area that can help you out with doing a DIY swap. But if you insist on paying somebody else to do it for you, then look to pay around $800-$1000. I dont know how good Motorsports Dynamics is at doing motor swaps for Hondas, but I've heard that DNR performance in Hayward has a solid reputation. And then there is Blacktrax in Milpitas, but other then those I dont know of any other reputable shops.

Don't pay anything, do it yourself and be able to tell everyone you did it. You'll learn a lot and be able to figure **** out if it breaks in the future.
buy everything need for the swap like mounts, wire harnesses, and what not. You are in CA and there are plenty of cool people in CA that will help you out, of course for a small fee!!!

I see that you also have the hydro tranny in your motor package. You should check out Ryan's (droppedcrxsi) website. This was the source that I used the most as well as my online copy of the Integra factory service manual.
BTW what trim is you CRX? DX, SI or HF? you might still have to buy a modified wiring harness and VTEC subharness (which Ryan also does for a small fee). You will also need the Hasport hydro to cable conversion kit to use.
here are some of the links you'll want to check out:

I didn't know HT have labor on this site for b18c.. thanks!!!! alot.
Money is not a problem. At first i wanted to learn the swapping of a engine by getting a ZC DOHC and mess with it myself. HAHA but my heart hungered for more horsepower so with ridiculous amount of money. I just place a order for the b18c and it arrived in 12 days. Since i have 2 CRX 90 and 91. Do yall think I should learn the basic of swapping? I LOVE CRX!!
Is it too late to buy the ZC DOHC and learn from there? while the b18c sits in the garage? lol . . . any comments?

read this on a b16 swap, from what i gather its nearly the same, it will show you what you need like mounts, linkage etc. Pulling the engine, and putting in the new one. I would ask around, do you have friends with hondas too?

Are you pretty good with tools? what kind of engine work have you done yourself?
I was able to knock out my swap all by myself, with only one other person helping me when I actually lowered the motor into the car. Total time it took me was 40 hours. I've done mostly suspension, header, intakes, and catbacks on all my previous Hondas. I did the starter on my ole Ford Probe, and I swapped the downpipe and did plugs and wires on my 93 RX7 (both of which were hard as fawk). The only reason I am able to do my work pretty well is because I get a good set of instructions and read it thoroughly before I do any work.
But if you can do your own work pretty good with a set of instructions like a FSM or the online how-to sites, then you should be able to do all the easy stuff. For the hard stuff like dropping the motor in then you can have a few H-T members that have done swaps before to help you out.
What kind of hand tools do you have? and do you think you can get access to an engine hoist?

oh man, what a very sexy problem you have
do it yourself and keep coming back at HT. there's tons of info in here and with all the great HT members, i don't think you'll NOT be having problems unsolved in due time.
goodluck

oh yah, check out the walkthrough on Ryan/droppedcrxsi's site to get a general idea of what you need to do. I've also been working on a walkthrough of my own, which is a lot more detailed to the ones you'll see on the net. I go through each step right down to what bolt you remove and from where it is. I can e-mail you that if you want, but it's at my work, so it'll be a while before I can get it too you.
also download the factory service manual for the 88-91 Civic/CRX in the two links below. I believe they are for JDM CRX's so you'll see some B16 info in there. However the diagrams should give you an idea of what parts are what, and where everything goes.

A b18c is totally diffrent from a ZC DOHC. The ZC bolts right in, the B18c does not. You need someone who knows what they are doing to help you out other wise lots and lots of research will need to be done. Good luck

Actaully, the real spec on the jdm B18c (gsr) is 180hp and has a higher compression of 10.6:1 which is the same as the usdm type R engine, not no coating on the pistons.

Do a search on the name "droppedcrxsi" and send him an IM. His name if Ryan has a car that is similar to what you want to do.
The mechanical aspect isn't that hard once you figure out all that needs to be done and it's worth the gained knowledge to do it your self.
I'd recommend you get somebody help you out with the wiring. Converting to OBD1 can get tricky (Ryan can help out a lot here due to selling conversion harness's).
Buy the factory manual from Helms for both the Civic and the car that the engine came out of. If it's JDM (as I think you said it was), then get a 94 or 95 GSR manual.
