Bypass what???
What do you mean by "bypass"?
The VSS cable goes from the transmission to the cluster, there it runs the speedometer and odometer
the cluster turns it from mechanical to electrical impulses and sends the signal to the ECU.
What is there to bypass? the cluster?

88Crxoncrack you need to be very specific when asking for help. When you read this, post exactly what the problem is and what it is doing. I am even lost and I know Hondas very well. I just can't give you a diagnoses or solution yet. Please post again and i'll help you. No worries.

ok listen if you replaced the cable go out there and unplug your battery and reset the ecu, this is what i had to do after my speedo broke.

already grounded out the ecu... don't know what else to do. can't figure out if there is anything in the cluster that will throw the check light on.

88crxoncrack, just a note about your site, a big no no in web page building etc is red on blue or blue on red lettering and backgrounds. Your site is very hard on the eyes with the blue lettering.

Is the cluster stock, or something else? The speed pulser on the back of the stock cluster should have one of it's feed wires coming from the ground on the speedo side and the other must come from the tach. I do not know why the other must come from the tach, but from another project of mine, I know that any other ground will not do. The wire feeding the ECU pulses is the yel/red coming from the blue connector. It's a simple ground circuit, so checking wire continuity should solve the problem easily.

You cannot bypass the speed sensor without advanced ECU knowledge. Places like ZDYNE can remove the speed sensor function, electronic load detector, etc...
