I know how to do it on a 4th gen, but for a 3rd the best advice I could give you would be to buy a Helms manual and read through it. It will tell you everything you need to know...
i have a 1000 page manual for my car, but its not helping me. All i know is mu ecu has a #10 error and in the book it means air intake temp. ??? I want this car to be emissions control free and have atleast the 100HP it should... my manual doest tell me how to do that.
Cany anybody help me on this 3rd gen project???

You car came stock with 100hp you say, and it's 15 years old. What the hell do you expect? Emissions aren't the problem, your car is OLD, it's called engine wear. Stop making posts about it.
instead of going nowhere lets try to help, first off why do you think that your emmissions controls are causing your CEL to come on if you are throwing a #10 intake air temp?
did you reset your ECU?
you are talking about exhaust when your ECU is telling your your intake is the problem.

True that, why don't you replace the IAT and see if that fixes it? That would be the first place I would start...
Also, look up in your manual charcoal canister, catalytic converter, and EGR (exhaust gas recirculation). Those are the only emissions things I can think of off-hand besides adjusting your timing or helping out the ECU with an SAFC.
