Default Question regarding power steering removal

I found no problems turning in crx w/ out power steering. of course its much lighter than itr. In comparison, how much more effort will be needed in itr with no power steering?

if you drain out most of the fluid it's not bad at all. If you leave all the fluid in there it's pretty tough

I would say it's about 20% tougher than my EF was. Depends on what width tires you have too.

i have 205/50-15 on 15x7 so 20% more effort with everything removed, right?

The effect is much easier if you vent the power steering as discussed in one of the power steering "how-to's" on this board.

If the car is rolling, the difference is small. But the difference during parking is much bigger.

And it depends how strong you are. If you are strong, the difference is relatively small....

the power steering fluid

if you take off just the belt steering can be tough. if you take off the belt and remove some of the fluid it's much easier. even easier to add a breather.
you don't need to remove the whole unit but can (should) for weight savings.
