Default SPS service connector

I'm reading about some TSB's right now, and I'll be getting the service manual around Christmas for my 5th gen, but, I need to know: is the SPS service connector able to be improvised from wire? I didn't know if this was a real technical piece of equipment or just a jumper. Please let me know, it seems like you can find a lot of information out by being able to jump the 2P service connector. Thanks!
