It took me 10 years... but I finally got her!
Well gentlemen, I've wanted a bike since the day I've had a driver's license. Tonight, 10 years of waiting for maturity to ensure safety and enough money to ensure financial stability has finally come to an end. It is with immense happiness that I introduce you to my "new" 2003 Suzuki SV650S.
A few notes:
-It's dark outside so I have to take pics in my small garage, hence the weird angles
-The pics make the bike look MUCH dirtier than it really is
-Yes, I know his "custom" fender eliminator is crooked
Enjoy.

Quarter past never... my street car has never seen the track and this never will either. Okay... well maybe in like 5 years I go for the 2 wheel race license.
I think I need to become slighty more aerodynamic before that happens.

I expect to me see doing that too.

Think about it...you own a sportbike that is sitting in your garage. AWESOME!</TD></TR></TABLE>
I kept waking up this morning without any desire to get out of bed. Then I thought pretty much exactly what you said and I'd smile and go back to sleep. Since I don't have insurance and a helmet all I could do was practice very slow starts and stop in my garage this morning. Calling the insurance company today and going to get a helmet after wizzork! Just the 30 minutes I've spent sitting on it over the last 12 hours has helped my confidence immensely.

I took the MSF in 2001 and have had my M class since then. Like I said, I've been preparing for a long time.

Since we have no real wind buffer in my neighborhood and the westerly winds come down off the mountains, trash cans have a habit of ending up 3 rows of townhouses away. Everyone in my neighborhood has numbers on their trashcan but all I had was some extra house paint around so I pained that bish all big like.

I think I am. It's really growing on me... plus no matter how "paint matched" the full fairing is it's still not quite the same in the right light. I feel like I'd rather get a slip-on and a real fender eliminator before considering full fairings.

Model wise I considered pretty much every 600 bike out there with heavy weighting on the CBR. When I realized the price (ans insurance) different between that and an SVS I started researching. Everyone I've talked to and everyting I've read says it's a great beginner bike so that pretty much made up my mind. Out of all the bikes I considered, I only ever "looked to buy" the SVS.

Good idea. Leaves less to scratch up.

It's good to see you didn't just run out and buy a bike to just end up killing yourself on it. I see you have wanted one for a LONG time and actually thought everything out. Good for you

Already shopping for a slip-on... who has a recommendation?
I'm looking for something that isn't too obnoxious but lets people know I'm riding a set of twins.
