Currently I have been running 15X7.5 SSR's with 225/45/15 hoosiers. Looking for a little more width.
I have a lowered Type R with tein RS. The fenders are already cut, but I would like to know if anyone has FIRST hand knowledge of someone who is running on 15X8.5 with either Hoosiers AS04 or Kuhmo V710's(NO full race slicks).

if you run a 5" backspace (approx 19mm offset) you will clear on the inside. you mentioned you cut the fenders? how much? as long as you have enough spring rate/shock, you will be fine. coincidentally i have a set of custom machined 15x8.5's up for sale in the near future if you may be interested.

there is no tire that is short enough to run on a 10" wheel. rumor has it a 245 was going to be avail from kumho, that has officially been shot down.
in regards to inner wheel lip removal, you will need to radius/cut the fender, or at the very least bend it upwords to clear a big wheel/tire combo. attached are pics of my custom fenders made to clear my wheels.(old pics, but you get the point)

I recall readin an article somewhere recently about a jdm crx gymkhana champion that was running this size wheel... the driver mentioned that it was hell to drive - but quick as **** around the course!
I've only found 245/50/15's in hoosier r3so4 compound.....

Those are the same height as the 245/45 16's that you can get in the A3S04 compound... A little too tall, imo, but it may not matter if you're putting down enough power and are willing to sacrifice ride height/Cg.

Are we changing cars or leaving the class/competition altogether?

I thought so too, but why would he sell the wheels? He could easily send them back to have the centers changed to 4 lug, and would probably come out ahead in the long run.

the centers were the most expensive part of my wheels, as they are forged. Yes, i am going to (i think, not set in stone yet) convert back to 4 lug. i have to do some more research regarding weights, and go from there. with all the mod proposals in SM, it's gonna be harder and harder to keep up, especially now that i am on a strict budget.
