My Poor Crx got rear ended
Im sitting at a stop light waiting to turn left... And bam, Some older man in a van, about 50yrs old. He was doing about.. 20KMH Id say, real slow.
I get out look. Just a scratch, no big deal i can spray bomb it (what i did before). Check underneeth, beam is straight. I tell him to give me 10 bucks for a can of paint and i wont bother with insurance and we left.
I get home, i walk out of my car and i notice that where it meets the 1/4 the gap was bigg.... Hmm. I look at the other side, and its sitcking over the body about a 1/4".
I had the bumper off. And when i re-installed it, i only put in half of the little screw things, and the bracket that holds it to the 1/4 is just a tab i welded on because the stock ones suck. So im sure the beam just slid off the beam a tad. I will clean it up tommorow, maybe i can just push it back over.. we will see.
He hit me almost straight on, so thta was fortunate.....
Watch out for them old men talkin on their cell phones

I tend not to leave the brake's applied at lights -- on level ground of course -- applied anymore for that exact reason. I rather the energy be transferred to a rolling motion foward then all into my bumper/trunk.

I forgot to mention they werent on
i only took me a fraction of a second to put them on when i felt the car moving by itself.
I went out and pulled the bumper back, now its fine again
And im glad it didnt crack any bondo, because i have some bondo on thouse edges back there.

How about seasoned? On my sedan, I was rear ended and my license plate was the only item bent out of shape. Never to this day have understood that, unless my bumper has some serious flexibility issues.

nah, not an old man! 50 is a long way off for most of you guys , but if you live past 30, it'll be on you before you can realize it! Don't ask how I know.

I agree. This is the 2nd time ive been rear-ended. If it were anywhere else these cars would crumble to pieces.
Im so glad i didnt gut my bumper beam
