using modified dizzy no longer has tach pick up, MSD 6AL tach output signal is not compatible apparently and MSD says they do not make a tach adapter for this application. any ideas? I really wish to use my stock tach so not an option right now.

Try wrapping the wire around a spark plug wire. Make sure it is tight, i dont know if it will work but it is certainly worth a try. It worked for me on something once.

thanks for your input but i have no idea what this is supposed to do, wrapping the signal wire is supposed to do what exactly?
My guess would be that the tach reads a pulse signal. and having the wire wrapped around the plug would allow it to hopefully pick up enough of the pulse to allow your tach to work.
How is your MSD running without a tach (ICM) signal? The MSD box has 6 wires, the main power, heavy red and black, the red (switching signal), WHITE which reads the ICM signal (needs this in order to even run at all), and your two others orange and black which drive the coil. Therefore if your MSD box is running, then you should just be able to tap your factory tach signal into the WHITE wire. Wrapping a wire around the #1 plug wire isn't going to work either, the tach doesn't read off of an inductive pickup. Hope this helps.

im just going to run the big tach on the dash, tks guys.
