Default Cam timing One tooth off??? Help!!

I got a b16 crx. I have my dist. advanced as far as it will go and it still acts retarded (boggs a little). Can I just bring the motor around so the crank mark lines up with the mark on the cover and the arrows on the cams should both point straight up right? I assume this will show if one of the cams is off a tooth. If so what is the best way to turn the cam gear?

The arrows wont point straight up, but angled a little forward. If you look on the cover behind the cam gears there will be small marks, as well as marks on the gear besids the up arrow. Here's a pic to better explain it.
Good luck

I just had to deal with this on my zc (where the arrows point inwards towards each other just a bit). I thought it was so dumb! The "up" arrows DON"T POINT UP?!?! Does anybody really know why this is?

They actually do point straight up, but the motor has a forward slant to it so it throws people off. And about the picture, no problem man. Glad to help.
