I have a 92 prelude 2.3 Si H23A . Recently i have had a code 12 problem which ccame out to be my EGR solenoid not working. my question is wht exactly it is and how can i replace it.

 

basically what it does is it re-circulates unburnt fuel providing better gas mileage. You could try cleaning it (it works sometimes)

By any chance are you having some idling issues?

 

No i dont really have any idling issues. It was found that my soleniod is bad .....can i change it my self. where do i get instructions .plz help

 

search dude, this was covered a bunch of times... but basically all you do is you take off the EGR valve and you clean it thoroughly with carbon cleaner and try to see if it works... if it doesnt you either block it off or you buy a new egr valve!

first step is to make sure the hose connecting up to it has vacuum pressure.. (from service manual) i had same problem
