Default Just another B16a dyno w/bolt ons...

Had a chance to dyno my car this past weekend.

Dynojet 248 model.

Specs:
b16a1 w/ I/H/E, TB, IM, Pulley, custom chip. NO CAMS

157hp, 106ft/lbs - 7500rpm rev limit

The two runs were inconsistent as I found my a/f all over the place and later traced it to a faulty aftermarket fpr which I'll explain in another post.

I plan on doing another dyno session after I sort out my fpr issues.

Another note is that I originally setup this car for more midrange power so I used an Apex-I Spiral Max header designed for midrange on b16a and 1.75" axle back w/ Dynomax CHAMBERED muffler!

I'm fairly confident that getting another fpr in conjunction with a different header/exhaust combo can yield a few more hp.

Just as a reference, a few other cars that dyno'ed the same day:

b16a1 w/bolt ons and Type R cams - 139 (probably poorly tuned)
16a3 w/intake,exhaust - 143hp
LS/Vtec w/ bolt ons - 145hp (probably poorly tuned)
GSR w/intake and chip - 139hp (probably poorly tuned)
GSR w/bolt ons - 160hp
'00 Type-R w/ bolt ons - 172hp
Built Type-R - 185hp

LS/Vtec w/ bolt ons - 145hp (probably poorly tuned)
GSR w/intake and chip - 139hp (probably poorly tuned)

yeah, I think the LS/Vtec was a tired motor.

I think the GSR had a bad O2 and this person was running a skunk ecu program with only an intake which is definitely a no no. Too much fuel killed hp in this case...

ls/vtec is stock bottom end poorly built.. stock head.. poorly tuned.. no offense matt.. i guess they are gonna rebuilt it though.. i think its weaksauce... their fully built ls/vtec motor with forged internals 12.7+ compression fully built head only put down 180whp... and that gsr had a faulty #1 crank shaft sensor in teh dizzy.. so it was runnin hella rich.. but i thought the #'s overall were pretty low for all motor.. we'll see what my motor makes on that dyno in a couple weeks..

Cool. Thanks for the pics and response Rob.

I was actually talking about the GSR from the first day and didn't know about the other GSR.

Can't wait til you get your motor put together.
