Default The R has sustained some damage

well... unfortunately tonight, I sent the itr right into a curb and pretty hard....

i just got a pair of puma speedcats the other day... and on my way home i figured i'd test them out a bit in an empty mall parking lot. What i didn't notice is that the sprinklers had wet some of the surrouding area. Push comes to shove and azenis under heavy breaking in the wet = not good idea.... and the car slid into a curb

it happened to the front driver side wheel, and the entire thing seems to be pushed back a bit, slightly rubbing against the wheel well

also the car looks lowered on that driver side front, I am thinking its a broken axel but I'm not sure, its 3 am so I can't really get a good look at it

whatever it is hopefully it isn't to expensive cause im broke right now

oh and to all the haters.... flame away

Let's see....could it be....yes, it is...

The judges all agree:

Bad decision, street racing in uncontrolled environment = damaged car.

Next time, try out your driving shoes at an autocross!

Having fun =
slamming a curb =
walking away = priceless

I would think you bent the suspension, possible the lower arm, tweaked a bushing and possible the mounting point on the frame.
Make sure that you find out 100% before you make it road worthy by getting a wheel alignment.

good luck on the repair.

Also check that you didn't bend the rim. It might be bent along the axis, which is much harder to fix than a bent lip.

Good luck, and glad you didn't dent yourself.

First with the car on the ground grab the wheel/tire and try to move it shake it.

Then jack it up and see what kind of play there is.

Then pull the wheel off and check to see what else could be damaged.

Check the entire wheel and tire to see if it is something simple like a bent wheel.

And above all Take pics of all of this and post it up if you want any sort of real help or more suggestions. In short, if you don't know what to look for or at, a good idea would be to take it to a professional.

FYI Azenis had nothing to do with your loss of control, your cars damage was completely driver error and poor judgement. If you didn't want people to comment on your actions, then don't post them up.

Don't forget, you asked to be flamed and then they obliged.

around about a year ago i hit a patch of ice and went into a curb suffering the same problem you are. I ended up comming away w/ a bent rota and lower control arm. Depending where you look the lca will run you anywhere from $100-$200 and they are not to much of a hassel to put on. Hope that helps

dan what the hell were you thinking man! lol

anyways listen when i had my gsr... i slide it into a curb as well... the wheel was bent back just like you descrbed... I ended up bending

1. The spindle
2.uppeR control arm
3.loweR control arm'

hope this helps...

I found the parts are a local junk yard... but for our "R's" I dont think you will find those there

should be a hefty repair bill

hope you learned your lesson, curbs are meant to be driven over by a mudd truck.

by the way... if you bent your wheel call me... i have the number to that company that fixed the wheels on my first R. "they did a unbelivable job"

actually i called acura... and the front lower control arms are the same for all the integras....and a buddy of mine has a spare one layin around so im pretty lucky... cause acura told me they cost $301 per lower control arm

so far it looks like thats the only problem... the upper control arm doesn't look bent.... tony is coming over though to take a look at it

I did the same damn thing once before.. slid on ice going around a turn, just kept going more or less straight, and BAM. Mine was a bit worse though, since the wheel actually made it all the way up into the fender, crumpleing the finder into both the door and hood... not to mention a badly bent rim. I never want to experience that again.
