Default Suspension for EF8

What's the best performance road suspension set for an EF8 CRX? Any suggestions?

My friend has KYB AGX adjustable shocks with Neuspeed progressive rate springs and those two seem to be a good combo........extremely tight handling and not too bumpy, you can change the damping of the shock which is a nice feature.

I have been looking into tein too... but, you'll need to get them serviced IN Japan every year or so to stay under their warranty, and guess how much that would cost, $500 mabye?

I'd say: Ground Controls w/ KYB AGX's

international shipping is not 500 bucks on a box of struts. more like 100 max and i would gladly pay that for a great set of teins. also i think there is a place in the US were you can send them. tien USA maybe......?

I too was looking into Tein's but now I see how the warranty works... **** that! Ship them on a yearly basis to Japan and wait who nows how long to get them back is definatly not worth it to me. Koni yellows with a lifetime warranty and ground-controls sounds really damn good to me right about now.

a good set-up that you will be glad with is pretty basic....H&R race springs, Tokico Illumina shocks, strut bars all the way around and possibly a sway bar upgrade and you will be tear'n the roads apart...but remember all you suspension upgrades dont mean squat unless you have some good rubber on your wheels. For the street stay on a descent budget, unless you do a lot of road racing coilover set-ups arent the way to go...youll dial them in once and never touch them again. So why not save some cash and just do something simple yet really pheasable

Default Depends.

What are you going to be driving the car for? Are you lowering it for appearance only? autcross? drag? road race?

Appearance:
Option 1: Some cheap shocks with some intrax springs will be under $600 for complete suspension, new.
Option 2: some cheap shocks (KYBs) and GC adjustable spring perch springs....can be had for around $750 new.

Autocross:
Option 1 (Decent): KYB AGXs with Intrax springs - $600-$650
Option 2 (Good): Koni yellows with Eibach springs - $650-$700
Option 3 (Best): Koni Adjustables w/ Eibach springs - $700-$800

Road Race:
Option 1 (Decent): Koni yellows with Eibach springs - $650-$700
Option 2 (Good): Koni Adjustables w/ Eibach springs - $700-$800
Option 3 (best): Koni coilover system - $1400-$1600 depending on who you go to.

Drag Race:
Option 1 (good): KYB AGXs w/ Eibach drag springs - $600?
Option 2 (Better): Koni adjustables w/ eibach drag springs - $700
Option 3 (Best): Koni adjustables w/ Skunk 2 adjustable spring perch - $800

hope this helps.

tiens are over rated jdm garbage.

if you want nice suspension for road racing id go with apexi n1 dampers
mugen showa 5 way adjustables ( will run you 3000 )
or vision dampers, same as spoon dampers.
they all have a nice ride for the track but i wouldnt recommend it for the street.

Holy crap did you pay waaayyyy too much for a quality coilover system. I hope you race that car if you're riding on that much money!

Koni coilovers are completely rebuildable, something close to 24 adjustments for rebound/damper and ride height adjustable for under $2K easily!!

Ouccchhhhh $3K for coilovers...you bought a $1500 coilover system and paid $1500 for the name! eek.

whew. i couldn't fanthom paying $3K for coilover system.

You road race/autocross it? I don't see the need in a coilover system in a drag car, unless it's doing 12s or better...but, that's me.

Both course and circuit. I drag it once in a while. My old setup sent the car into the 12 mark all motor. Pretty damn cool.

KYB's suck. i hate mine. after one year, they are blown. the Adjustables are what i have on Skunkworks springs. the saddest part is, all KYB shocks have a lifetime warrenty, EXCEPT the AGX. hmph..

i want to buy Tokico with Ground controls, 450 up front, 500 in the back..

btw, Koni DA's are very expensive. the shocks are like 1600 for a set of 4. they don't make 'em directly for a CRX, so OPM Motorsports makes them and they are $$$.

btw, my car is daily driven and auto-xed.

The Koni Double Adjustables i'm speaking of are rebound and spring perch (three settings for front and two for rear...may be other way around). NOT rebound and damper adjustable.

The rebound and spring perch double adjustable Konis are $150/f, $140/r from summitracing.com.
