Default Car Shipping.

I'm looking at a decent G2 Rally ride lined up nicely, real cheap, only problem is they're on the wrong coast.

Anyone recommend a company, or have history with any that they would like to share?

If I can't get it shipped cheaply (under 800), I'll have to fly over and drive the damn thing back (illegally), or just wait for something closer.

I got a car shipped from Rialto CA to Neenah WI and it ran me 750 with a huge discount frommy wife's work. I called up a commercial transporters and they all ran right around 11-1200 to ship it. Better call greyhound!

Be careful with the budget shippers. The cheapest shippers are just internet resellers selling the equivelent of a standby ticket. I don't have the links in front of me, but all of the reputable shippers I found were going to run more than $1000 for coast-to-coast.

I eventually decided to fly out and drive back. It was a decent experience. Next time I'll leave the wife at home and take someone whose actually willing to share the driving though.

have you thought about renting/borrowing a trailer and driving down there to pick it up? Assuming you have a vehicle capable of towing, of course.

While I personally haven't had any experience, I know of several racecars that where sold and shipped to and from florida without any problems. One was a street car and other a SCC Honda Civic EX racecar. Both occassions, everything went fine.

It's the time I don't know if I can afford for that one, although it would be cheap as ****, I have frequent flyer miles enough to fly me out that way for free (which I just remembered about).

I just started a new full time job today, plus finishing out a class for the semester. Maybe right after Christmas I could do it, I'm just afraid the car would be gone by then.

Thanks for the responses, you guys helped my stupid *** remember free flights and uhaul.

I used All America Auto Transport: http://www.aaat.com

They moved both of my cars from MD to CA (one of them being raced prep'd) for about $850 for one and $825 for the other. Great guys to work with.
