i have a bone stock 94 ls, now everytime i go fill her up i put in about 10 bucks in her and it only gets me 3.5 gallons and my gauge is close to E after filling her up with 3.5 gallons the gauge reads half a tank
is that right? and when i put 5 gallons its 3/4 full
also that 3.5 gallon gets me about 100 miles so im guessing im getting decent gas mileage but doesnt feel right for some reason
i dont drive hard and plugs, wires and rotor are in fairly new condition
and ive searched in the archives

 

I would just be glad that it gets good gas mileage.
Mine does some what of the same thing, $10 puts it pretty much half or a bit over.

 

i get about 28 miles to the gallon on a full tank of gas down to empty. i forget off the top of my head what the tank size is. im thinkin 12 or 13. but thats great gas milage. but its gonna go down when i redo and tune my engine.

"question bout my ls" = piece of ****... may i suggest "mileage problemes" or something even lose to what you are talking about...

to answer your question...

you LS should get @ least 20 mpg... and thats driving like a maniac. normal drivers get around 25 i'd say. your tank holds 13.2 (roughtly) gallons... the light comes on after you have used anywhere from 11-12 gallons...

so do the math.

I was wondering the same thing. Everytime I fill it up it takes about $20~ 7 gallons give or take. And my gauge reads full.

so what if it reads half a tank on 3.5 gallons fill??? maybe your car was above 2gallon fuel tank limit and some hill or something sloshed the fuel and the light came on and you were really above 2gallons ? i dont know man... but dont even try to analyse it like that... fill the tank ... does it say full ??? im sure it does..... if you want to be stubburn about it .. .replace your fuel sending unit

 

so you put in 3.5 gal and u get 100 miles..thats 28mpg dont worry about what your gauge says..i see no problem
