How do I get the damn wing off?
Going wingless and wanted to know how to get the wing off. Took off the nuts on the bolts and it won't budge. Not that knowledgeable about this and yes I did search. Help please.

Yeah wingless definitely is not favored by myself....but to each his own
Be sure to add heat to the process as well as some goo gone, some floss or fishing line and you'll be golden!

yea i was gonna say i thought there was some adhesive holding it on. But do what those guys said and you should be ok.
why are u taking it off ne way? it looks so much better, in my opinion, with it on? Too much attention?

I like the look of it from all the pictures I've seen, but I want to see it in person. If I don't like it I can always put it back on. I would like to say because of too much attention but my friend drives a '00 PY R w/ JDM front, CF hood and lip, and spoon rims, so he's probably drawing a little more attention than my car. I've had the car for more than a year and haven't had any money to do anything to it cosmetically (besides Recaros) so i figure I can just take off the wing and it will be like looking at a different car for a while. But I do love it with the wing too.

totsie7944, just a question, what kind of hp are you seeing with your mods. Just curious because your setup is similar to what I want to do.(when I actually have $$$)

Just the bolts and double sided adhesive. Becareful not to dent the trunk lid. </TD></TR></TABLE>
Second that.
Removed mine to find a nice dent care of a body shop I used a year earlier.
And, ignore the purists. You can put it back on any time you want, and it will always be easy to remove or replace from then on (assuming you don't replace the adhesive gaskets - just cut your own from sheet rubber instead).
Removing mine made a BIG difference in the amount of attention the R attracted - Civics and Crown Vic's.

Mmmmmm.... I've been thinking about removing too... but then I start looking at Mugen wings for some real downforce...
Maybe I'll try removing it for the winter.

Easily plugged.
Do a search for the part number of the stock Honda rubber grommet.
Fits perfect, and I don't mind the way it looks, even unpainted on a CW car. Much better than the hacked-up, painted carriage bolts I used previously.

They're not grommets, they're plugs.
Civic (92-95) plugs from the shock towers where a strut brace would mount (if it came with one)... worked just fine for me. The Honda part number is 91601-SR3-000

I don't have a camera, but I'll see if i can find one. I also need some time to clean up the ride. Daily driving + rain
for keeping a clean car. But I'll see what I can do.
