Sounds like your rotors are warped.

Your rotors are warped, you need to get them machined...

You can get them machined or "turned" but a lot of times its just easier to replace them

I would replace them, but you could also get them re-surfaced.

does your steering wheel also vibrate when not on the brakes at certain speeds? if so, it could also be an out of balanced wheel making it worse.

Yes it does, when i'm going around 40-60 mph it vibrates. So that means out balanced wheel as the tires are bad or the rims??

That just might mean one of your wheel weights on your wheels have fallen off making the wheel vibrate. You never know.

how much are new rotors and pads normally? mine is vibrating when i stop and sometimes it will make a loud squel when driving then stop im guessing its down to the sensors on the pads.

i think it shouldn't cost much unless you buy it from the dealership... I think i'm going to get it aftermarket for cheap because i dont think it matters, this prelude aint gon' my permanent car anyways.. prelude does suck alot especially when i have people sit in the back seat.. They be complaining to move seat more forward and i be driving like a old man so close to a steerin wheel..

Don't waste your money on expensive rotors.

Autozone has Prelude OEM replacements for $21/rotor.

Napa has the same, but from a different manufacturer for $33/rotor.

By the way is it normal for a rotor to rust on the middle outside. Because everytime i buy new rotors..later after all that storm, it start to rust all over and it looks ugly and makes me want to get the black steel donuts just to cover it so it won't show.

yep.

you have to get a high temp, sweet *** clear coat on them (and on the lip also, at the top all the way around) for them not to rust.

anyone have any other methods?

The squeal is because you need to change your brake pads and the metal wear indicator is now touching the disk which meas there is most likely less than 2mm brake pad material left and btw the service limit is 1.6mm

I bought a new set of brakes for my Lude the other day because mine are way too worn what with the grooved disks but I lost my Wheel key! GOtta wait for a replacement.

Yeah, your rotors are steel. It doesn't take long for them to start oxidizing after they come in contact with water.

Go check out a new car dealership. You can tell which cars haven't been driven after they wash them by looking at the rotors.

"Warped" rotors is a misconception. What happens is the pads transfers material to the rotors unevenly causing grooving and rough spots which causes the vibration while braking at 50+mph.

There are 3 solution to this scenario. 1. Replace the rotors and bed the pads properly (this is usually the cause). 2. Have the rotors cut/machined/resurfaced for about $10-$15/rotor and then rebed the pads. 3. Take some sand paper to the pads and rotors and then rebed the pads.

Where are these cheap rotors everyone is talking about? I'm paying $75/rotor from Cobalt for my Prelude VTEC rotors.

Yea, deffinatly just replace the rotors. Stock rotors on the prelude are just fine. I got some cross drilled brembo's for free since when I bought the car the front rotors were cracked...bad.

The guy is a wholesale dealer and we are still buddies and he helps with the car. We just did some cross drilled brembo's (think he paid about $60 for em) and some aem brake pads. Cars stops very quickly, but stock it will still grab very nice.

I get a little vibration due to missing a few wheel weights and from grooves in the pavement. On a flat surface road I can apply the brakes with no back and forth movement, so I know its caused by the road and not anything on the car...also having new rotors rules out that they are bad.
