I've got a db8 and was recently hit on the drivers side front. Headlight was busted, bumper scarred, and hood would not latch anymore. Turns out the core support was bent in a tad. All i need is about a good 3/4 of an inch "PULL" and it'll be cool for a couple months, till I can slap a new core support.

use a comealong rather than a truck.
With a comealong&chain and a tree, you can slowly bend it back into shape yourself but winching it in.
Hell, you Might be able to fix it back damn near to new to where it was such a good repair that no one could tell..
Take your time doing this, It might help to remove the radiator and the condensor to hammer, pull and take a good long time to fix it.
You might be able to find your exact match paint in a spray can at the store, Ive actually seen this done, and look factory if you know how to spray paint, but even if you cant, theres room for error since itll 90% be coverered
Hope this helps

um, i would suggest not doing that.
if you have a helms manual, you can see that there are precise specifications to shape your car back should it be in an accident. so if you want it right where it's supposed to be, take it to a reputable collision repair shop.
can't beat peace of mind.
edit: btw, your valve cover looks good.

Thanks for the help.....But whats a comealong????? Sounds like something i have more control over than just dragging it with a truck or a tree. Where can I get one?
LSvtec03: Yeah, i read the helms about the points and specs on frame pulling. But i'm really only doing this to get by for a few weeks until I can replace the support. I just dont want to rush and take it to any ol' place and get raped for the work...at 282,000 mi, i need to save every penny I got. But thanks for the concern.

a comeallong is a lever winch.
You can get these at home depot, lowes, possibly walmart etc.
You can probally find these online.
People use them to pull chain link fences real tight before hooking them to the poles etc.
Hooking this to a tree, essentially will duplicate the front action of a frame puller.
We cant really see how bad off it is, but if its slightly off like you said, it can be fixed.
Look arround for a hand winch aka comealong this will help you
