carreres in welding/fabrication?????
I learned how to weld today. did some acetylyne welds for my aviation major. I liked it so much im thinking of switching to the welding program. I was curious of how good a career this is. I dont just want to weld the same old same old every day. But something that would require fabrication, nad all different materials and welding techniques. Can anyone give me some good pointers?

Ship yards, air crafts, gas tankers, army aplications(ex: tanks, jets, sub marines, etc), automobile, pipe line welders, and countless other stuffs you could do.
probably the most verstile metal users are air crafts, army, cars, ship yards, and pipe lines.

I was offered a job last week for Intermagnetics Corp. tig welding the MRI machines they make. the pay was great and the benifits were awesome but i don't think i would enjoy welding in an industrial postion. I heard from a few sources companies that the gov. is subcontracting to help rebuild Iraq are in need of welders...the pay was something like 100-125hr and you had to spend 1 year there...
