Default steering wheel cut because of the club

my 95 gsr almost got stolen! while i was visiting in milwaukee wi over the weekend, in downtown i parked my car to go clubbing. someone broke into my car (don't know how because there is no damage) and tried to cut the steering wheel with a knife in trying to get the "club" off. luckly they only ended up stealing all of our luggages and left everything else (rims, stereo, cd changer, leather seats, ect...) the only thing i'm complaining about is my steering wheel. there's a cut on it. is there any product i can use to fill of get rid of this cut mark? does any one have a black steering wheel for sale ?(w/o the airbag because mine is fine) thanks in advance.

You should be thankful you didn't get your car stolen. But for your steering wheel, go to a junk yard. There should be something you could use. Ever though of a new anti-thief device?

Time to go to something like a Sparco or Momo wheel with a detachable setup so you can either hide the wheel or really you should take it with you.

Ohh and damn Im glad my Teg, looks like **** cause Im in Milwaukee all the time.

other then an alarm system i was also thinking of getting one of those locks that attaches just to the clutch pedal. i think that would be alot harder if not impossible to cut through considering where it is. what do you guys think? but so far that club has served it's purpose so i will continue using it for the time being.

If it's a deep cut, then NO.

Is it that unbearable that you are this desperate to fix it?

This is a good excuse to get a JDM ITR one nonSRS or the other, they both look good and OEM-like. Unless you want to get rid of your airbag then get a Momo or other similar wheel that's detachable.

thanks for the pictures NightRider-gsrR. that is an airbag, right? i noticed it didn't have the cruise control button. can that be put on there? would this be a direct bolt on for the gsr? thanks again in advance.

i have found a replacement but was wondering how hard it would be in replacing it. is there any tricks in keeping it aligned? will the airbag be an issue at all? what about the wirings? if anyone has done this, let me know what you think and if ther's any tips you can give. any help is appreciated. thanks in advance.

the top lining for the dc2 doors is only rubber so they brobably just jimmy'd it. Wheel clubs dont work they cut mines 2 try the clutch lock. good luck

Its not that hard to replace at all, but i'd recommend finding the instructions on how to disarm and remove the airbag instead of goofing with it.

If you get the JDM Momo airbag wheel, remember that its designed for the updated airbag harness (94-95 is different), so the wiring's a little different. If i remember correctly, canuckmx6 has this wheel on a 95 Teg, just do a search for his post about it.

Good luck!

Pull off covers on side of steering wheel, then there will be two torx bolts you need to remove, then you can take off airbag module. (be sure to disconnect battery for a couple of minutes before any of this) Remove airbag module and disconnect srs harness, then i believe its a 17mm socket you will need to get the bolt off that holds the steering wheel in. Take that off, then do the reverse to install new wheel/airbag. Its very easy.

finally got my steering wheel replaced. my car is a 95 and the replacement was from a 97 so the wirings are a little different - i couldn't use the airbag or cruise control that came with the "new" replacement. had to use the originals plus the wiring brackets but other then that, everything was a direct fit. i'll just save the airbag in case i should ever need it - just replace the plug and it should be ok. anyways, just for reference, the trox size for the airbag was t30 and the nut that holds the steering wheel is a 19mm.
