New oil filter? Is your speedo sensor working properly?

Have you tried a different ECU or tested your ECU on another car.

It's all about eliminating the possibilities one at a time.

hmm i was going to say that maybe you need more oil. My friend had a similiar problem and the place that worked on it said there was something wrong with a o2 sensor..... i believe, i know it had something to do with o2 though. Sorry i cannot be more clear. I jsut don't remember.

Also might wanna try checking the spark plugs, and check out your compression why your at it. A kid at my friends turbo shop just recently had trouble with his vtec because the sparks weren't firing right.

if it is that new then no.. maybe make sure it is installed correctly. But i would guess either something concerning your oil is not right, maybe the pump, or something with the engine not getting enough oxygen.

The 02 sensor wouldn't have alot to do with that ne way. Check the plugs for now. You also might wanan post this in the Type R forum, those guys might have some more ideas.

sounds to me like you have a bad connection at your solenoid, ecu or plug in between, then again your engine light would come if it was an electrical short with the vtec solenoid...do you have chipped ecu reading only various sensors or do you have a OE ecu? your O2 sensor has nothing to do with your vtec cutting in and out...

and when you say cutting in and out.. do you mean coming on then off then on then off while your rpm climbs? just some thoughts...

even if the plugs are nice n tight, you could have a loose pin at a plug, which could be a pain in the *** to find...but like i said before it would throw a code 21 or 22 if it was something with your vtec electrical system...this is a tricky one...

I'm thinking one of your vtec orifices are maybe clogged and is not letting oil go to either the intake or exhaust rockers(depending on which way the oil flows) If i were you i'd have the vtec oil psi checked at the head..Your gonna have to have a shop do this, assuming you dont have a oil psi gauge..
