gsr cluster swap gas guage problem!!!!!!!!
everything works great except the gas gage not being accurate. Has anyone els had this problem at all. could it be i need to use a gsr gas level sending unit in my gas tank.
any help would be great thanks
this swap is in a 90 crx si with b16a in it all connections are solder just to clarify

Any integra unit should work fine. Did the same swap in my '89 dx crx, same problem.

Is it working at all because a lot of the online guides to the wiring for the swap are wrong for the fuel gauge.
the guage works when i fill up the tank the guage moves to a little over a half tank then when i put about 70miles on it the guage drops
I think the voltage may be different between the crx fuel level sensor and the integra one, so my guess would be to use the integra fuel level sensor to go with the integra cluster, let me know cause I have the same problem too.

i had the same problem but it wasnt with a crx it was with a ek.
the problem was that the guide that i used was for 98-01 cluster while the cluster i had was from a 94. Most of the wires are in the same location, but not all. sone of the wires that were wrong were the gas guage, seat belt light and the maintence light.
that might explain while your guage is not working properly, it might not be properly connected.
im not sure i this will help you with your problem but it might.

Well I went through 3 diffrent diagrams before I found the wright one, and even checked it with the 3 diffrent wires that were used on the diagrams. The yellow with white stripe was the one that showed the guage would change levels, so I know that it is the correct one. Because the other wires would not budge the gauge what so ever or send it way passed full & would never drop.
here is a link that helped me out https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=458873
just follow the color codes and use solder for the connections and heat shrink.
good luck on the swap Modified by sullenht at 9:18 AM 11/16/2004
You don't need any wiring diagrams, most of them are wrong anyways, the best way to see what function uses what wire is to simply trace it on the back of the cluster up to the plug and there's your wire, my cluster is wired properly, I just think there's a voltage difference between the crx gas level sensor and the integra gas Gage some one correct me if I'm wrong.
I had a guy pM me and said his guage works perfect he said he filled it up and the guage said full. I know that when I got my guage it didnt have the clear plastic cover over the guage faces. The gas needle was a little past E so I wander if I fill the gas tank up and remove the cluster and just put the needle to Full if that would correct the problem just a thought, could anyone comment on this. thanks
moving the needle after a fill up no worky for me. I might just have to test with another sending unit to check and see if that is the issue
