Main relay, click buzz, no start, I know I know search(I did)e
Background:
89-Honda Civic LX stock D15 engine, did an mpfi swap a couple weeks ago, and it's been driving since, Sometimes awesome sometimes lopy idle near 0,it didn't die though. After awhile check engine light would come on. I looked at codes and it told me 1, so oxygen sensor. Changed senor, still get code, so i am looking for a short or Fuel pressure regulator since it running really rich. I get my timing belt and water pump changed, and the next day...
Real Question:
Driving along, electronics cut out, tach goes to zero, i think oh well and drop clutch start it , comes back, think nothing about it. Then it does it again, except i was stopped, so wheni try to restart i get the clicking main relay, correlating to the check engine light blinks and ecu blinks, starter turns but no iginition.
Steps taken:
1.My buddy checked for spark and injector pulse and said i was getting neither(don't know for sure since i didn't do it.).
2.I don't think i am getting the fuel pump to kick on becuase i can't here it.
3. Changed main relay
4. changed battery
5. jiggled wires at ecu to check for anything coming loose(all joints soldered and heat shrinked in swap)
6.unplugged Main relay and starterd harness test procedure. Passes until point wher you put multi-meter between black and blue/white wire. I should get 12 volts when cranking but i get nothing. Check contiuity between two wires and it has it. Check contiuity between blue/white and chassis ground, it is grounded.
7. That leads to ignition switch so could be bad, i unplug and still get grounded. I don't know what would make this wire ground all of a sudden or if it supposed to.
Concerns/Suspicions:
1.Oxygen sensor wire is exposed, but no continuity to ground ever(it is on the plug end so it never rubs on metal)
2. Blue wire on small plug of distributor it exposed, but no continuity to ground.
3. Someone told me to run a wire form A15 of the ecu into the engine bay, unplugged it and it might be grounded, didn't check yet, but maybe it could ground with just that length of wire attached or mess up the ECU.
I am stuck and i would appreciate any help to get my car runnning.
Thanks
Tyler

umm im havein the same problem, have u takin ur main realy out and inspected it? one problem with them is the soder wil crack and make a bad conection on one or more of the points on the board, mine was fried it smelt like burn xmas diner, but my problem is that theres a faulty conection somewhere between the aic and the main relay, so i dont knw what ur rex is doin id take the relay out and sheck for bad conections on the baord
I checked all the fuses in the engine compartment and mos tof the ones under the dash, i will double check them all again tonight or tomorrow, car is kind of parked at a hotel and it's my daily driver. This really shat on my life since my final projects for school ar due this week.
Thanks guys
Thanks guys
Figured it out. Thanks for all the help, minus my stupidity. It was a thermostat housing ground. Before everyone jumps on me, i did check it, but not well enough. Apparently the bolt was stripped and it had lost it's contact, swapped locations and it seems to have worked, fixed O2 sensor problem too. Now i just have to fix that weird idle and now i have a coolant leak from the head (recheck torque)
Thanks Again yu guys are great.
