When clutch catches - Grinding?? *Quick*
Ok... (This is only sometimes) When my clutch catches at the "spot", right after this point I feel some kind of grinding, almost like I am dragging something under my car. The more I bog it the worse it does it. The thing is, it dosent do it all the time.
To tell the truth I have no clue what is causing this. All I can tell you is that I just recently started noticing it.
If this has anything to do with it, I just put on a Thermal R&D classic cat back, last week.
Please help me Honda-Tech. Thanks

I know that I am asking you all for the answer.
but what will that solve??
Do you have any reasoning?
Thanks in Advance.

You mention putting the exhaust on and ask if it has anything to do with the problem. I then tell you to try removing it to see if its stops. That is my point, why would I take a full cat back exhaust off (a pain in the ***) If I have no real reason for it.
I just asked if you knew what that would solve--apparently you dont know.

Try this:
sit in your garage or annother level spot. At idle put the clutch in and leave the stick in neutral then blip the throttle pretty hard and listen. Then try the same thing only this time with the clutch engaged and listen to it as the revs come down.
next go out and put the car into 1st and get moving about 10 or 15 mph and then take your foot off the throttle but leave it in gear until the car starts to buck and is about to stall. Listen for the grinding.
If i had to take a wild guess I'd say you've got a problem with one of the bearings in the tranny. I had a faulty main bearing on my civic's tranny go out at 16k miles and it made some amazing grinding noises over the week or so it took to die.
