Default how are crx's classed? ie, are they gen 2, series 2 etc?

hey, im new (and im a girl!) . i just bought a 92 VTEC targa top crx, its hot. theres this guy i sort of know, and he's been heard saying something like "series 2s are much better thab series 3s" he has an older crx, not sure what year, the little boxy type one.

so, what im asking is, how are they classed, and how right is this guy, if he's even right at all? thanks guys!

Where she is from the 92+ crx looks like our del sol..
Series 2 is the 88-91 crx
Series 3 is the 92-?? crx..(del sol to us)

First Generation: 1G: 84-87
Second Generation: 2G: 88-91

Now, from what I understand, some CRX's in foreign (to the US) countries were produced later and could classify to be a 92, but in reality we would put them in the same category as the 91's. Anything later than that is a Del-Sol as mentioned above.

yeah i've seen and read articles where the pic was the Del Sol, but on the back and what they knew it as was a CRX. BUT there is a few countrys with a true 92 CRX, but its the exact same as the 91 model

Ok, you guys need to know your crx history a little better.

The U.S. is the only place with 2 generations of CRX. Everywhere else has a 3rd gen. It's not a Civic Del Sol like it is here but a CRX Del Sol. If you're talking to someone from Europe, Asia, Australia, or even Africa and they say they have a 96 or 97 CRX, they aren't stupid.

</TD></TR></TABLE>

In america that car you pictured is titled "del sol" where as you guys call it a CRX.

In america we only have 2 generations of crx's 1g 84-87 and 2g 88-91

I would assume that austrailians would refer to your car cars as a 3g crx

if you look at the timeline that you posted it shows the first crx being offered in 83-87! gen1 then gen 2 87-91 then gen 3 92-+
