I just recently aquired a 1991 legend. I don't know much of their engines but the d4 light on the shifter panel is blinking when the engine is started no matter what gear it is in. It might be a transmission problem. Should I just do an engine swap? It has 160,000 miles on the current engine/transmission. If so, what type of engine would work best? C32A (3200cc), C32A1 (3206cc), J32A from CLS, J32A2 from 3.2 TLS?

 

imo i wouldnt waste money on a swap for the legend. there are plenty of ways to spend that money.

sounds like a VSS problem, which isnt unusual considering your mileage.

read this and see what you can come up with
