What speakers Fit in a 93 Prelude !!! I dunno, Need heLP
Hi,
I have Honda Prelude 93 Si Gen IV AUSDM, Engine Si...
The problem is it obviosly only takes 6 1/2" speakers but bloddy they cant be deep either !!!! I bought some Soundstream but they won't fit in the back or the front....
So what can i do ? what have u people done ? I can fit some Pioneer Splits at the back and some Clarion splits in the front..but Clarions are weak as ! SO i wanna change them...
What would fit though ??? The current clarion ones are 2.2 inch deep..i think it can take a bit more but its got that wierd adapter things u gotta use...what can be done here ??? plz help...this is the last place that can help me !!!
Is their anyway to use some sort of adapter rather than the stock ones to put some speakers in the rear ??? So i can get my soundstream to fit ?? They have a depth of 2.68 inches .... current pioneer who make contact with boot strips (using stock basket) have depth of : 2.375 inches...
WHAT CAN I DO TO THE BACK>....ANYWAY I AVOID USING BACK STOCKET BUCKET ???
thanks

They are metric speakers - 4th gens take 160mm ones. Try Kicker K6's they are in 160mm and are just thin enough, you'll just have to cut the rear of stock adapters to fit the magnet. I bought mine in the US
(against all logic, metric speakers are not available in EU !)

I had a set of diamond audio components for my 4th gen before I sold it. They arent that deep and fit fine. Plus they sound really good. I had the middle setup which was the M series. I recently upgraded to the hex series for my 5th gen so I'd recomend diamond audio
i put infinity kappa 6 1/2 3 ways in the back. fit fine no spacers needed and covered them with the stock grills. 5 1/4" Kenwoods in the front, had to slightly modify the location buy cuting some of the plasitc out.
how do i fit the soundstream is the question....need advice of ppl who have done spacers at the back.....

What not to do. if you dont seal the seating of the speaker it will sound terrible, you will have no midbass response.

kicker DX's and eclipse SE series fit in honda speakers baffles without any modification.
pay a car audio shop to make spacers if you really want your soundstreams to fit.

How can i do it myself ?? dont the ring spacers look ugly ? HOw do they replace the basket thingie since its a wierd fit at the back
If you dont think you are capable of doing it, have someone do it for you. If that is not an option and you've already said that you dont wanna screw anything up, then take some peoples advice, ditch the soundstreams, and buy some of the other suggestions, I personally know the Alpine Type S (6 1/2 2-ways) work and sound great. Good luck
