Default JDM P73 Pistons and Rings in my b18c1

ok, so i have the cams/intake manifold, and soon will have the throttle body...

i'm hoping to hit mid-high 180whp with this setup, but then am opting for jdm p73 pistons....

~11.6 CR and hopefully high 190s-200whp....

i heard that this will decrease my engine life....by a lot?
is this true?, how safe are these pistons

i have ~40k in my gsr engine...thanks

those will give you around 11.3 or so, which is a good setup.
just make sure you tune tune tune.

i think 190-200 is a bit of a stretch with the pistons and that setup. of course it will decrease the life of your engine. but is it worth it in your eyes, that's the question.

i'm running 11.8:1. that's my answer, haha

I'm just curious as to how the pistons will decrease the life of the engine?? It just never crossed my mind that it would put extra ware on the engine.

well....every real power adder is going to decrease life. putting some jun3's in your motor will decrease it's life. putting high compression pistons in will decrease life. i'm not saying it's going to break down at 50,000 miles, it's not going to be a huge difference. ITR pistons are a GREAT addition. but think about it, if you run really hard, do you get tired faster than if you are jogging? it's just more stress on the motor. but it can handle it fine.
