Default 1997 Prelude, got some questions......

Hey guys Im new. I am looking into buying a 1997 up honda prelude base 5spd.
I found one with with 85k that drives perfect, was women driven, service was all done and mechanically is in great condition. Clean tittle but was in an accident on driver side that resulted in a respreay of the whole drive side. The paint was done pretty poorly. Car was parked outside also so the roof and trunk has fading. Price is very negotiable as of now. Car is stock, with dealer installed leather. Its red, what do you guys think, whats a fair price, is it worth buying and repainting, how much would a quality repaint cost? Also is there anything I should look for that is a problem with preludes. Thanks for any help you can give!!!

My guess would be around $7000, if it just needs paint and no body work I say 700?

One of the Preludes biggest problems is the tranny alot of peeps have trouble with them. Just used the Serach function.

is there a tranny that doesnt have a problem....i mean it is like saying...man, you really dont want to get that car, you will have to change the tires every 30k miles or so, and that is a LOT!

5spd is much better than auto reliability wise. I would go less than 7k....if it needs body work, and faded and stuff, lower.

The tranny was real smooth I did lots of downshifts abrubtly and at high rpms and it was great.'

Also no body needs to be done, it just the paint. I would like to get it lower than 7 but I dont think it will happen. I think 7 is a possibility.......

Yeah dude, I think 7000 would be a more than decent price because 5th gen preludes are still relatively expensive, especially if all it needs is paint.
